Cookies Policy
Essential browser storage, optional Google Analytics, and how to change your choices.

1. Cookies and similar storage
Cookies are small values a website can store in your browser. KeyHatch also uses localStorage and IndexedDB to remember choices and keep practice records on your device. This policy covers those technologies. Necessary storage supports the features you request; optional analytics stays off until you allow it.
2. Storage used by the current service
| Storage | Purpose | Duration / control |
|---|---|---|
| KeyHatch IndexedDB | Local progress, summaries, checkpoints and preferences | Until cleared or evicted by your browser |
| Appearance preference | Remember Light, Dark or System | Until changed or cleared |
| Analytics choice | Remember whether you allowed analytics | Until changed or cleared |
| _ga and _ga_* | Google Analytics identifiers, only after opt-in on public pages | Configured for up to 13 months; removed when analytics is turned off |
3. Optional public-page analytics
We use Google Analytics only with your permission. Enhanced measurement and advertising features are disabled. The practice workspace, typed text, scores, learner profiles and account data are not measured. Declining has no effect on free access. Turning analytics off stops future measurement and removes the analytics cookies; it does not automatically erase information already processed by Google. See our Privacy Policy.
4. Hosting and account/payment services
Cloudflare provides website delivery and security; any security storage used for that purpose is separate from optional analytics. Firebase Authentication uses necessary browser storage to maintain the sign-in session you request. Its authUser entries and tokens are removed by signing out or clearing site data; signing out does not delete your server account. Firebase may also use storage on auth.keyhatch.org and Google domains to complete Google sign-in. Blocking this storage may prevent sign-in, while free local practice remains available. Stripe is not loaded and no payments are collected in this release. We do not currently embed advertising or session-replay tools.
5. Your controls
Use the controls below or Cookie Settings in the footer to change optional analytics. Browser settings also let you inspect, block or remove cookies and site data. Clearing all KeyHatch site data removes your local practice records and preferences as well as your consent choice. A choice applies to this browser; make it separately on other devices or profiles. Contact [email protected] with questions.
Optional analytics
With your permission, KeyHatch uses Google Analytics to count visits to its public pages, such as the homepage and curriculum. It sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies for up to 13 months. Google signals and advertising features are off. Practice activity, typed text, learner details, and account identifiers are never sent. Until you allow it, Google Analytics does not load; turning it off later deletes these cookies.
